SECURITY POLICY

This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. SSL technology has been implemented throughout our application system. Information exchanges and transactions, including authentication, passwords, contact lists (uploading and storing online) and billing related data between you and our application system are strictly protected using this technology. This ensures that your session is completely private and secure from both external systems and other customers using our system.

We want to assure you that the issue of security has been addressed at all levels by the implementation of rigorous standards and industry-leading best practices. Whether you're accessing your account, storing data or exchanging credit card information, you can feel confident that every exchange and transaction you make is secure.

We understand the importance of maintaining total security of your data. Whether it is your contact lists, your campaign results or your billing information. We've taken many measures to keep your information secure from hackers, other customers and other systems. Our database is secured behind a firewall and all data is backed up on a daily basis and stored in a secure fireproof data safe.

Your data
The names that you enter into Emu and those entered from your web site are fully YOUR property. We do not mix these names with other names in our database, nor do we use them for any purpose other than what you have instructed us to do. Furthermore, we will NEVER share, give, exchange, use, or copy your list except at your direction when providing you with the Emu service. If you terminate service with us at any time, we will permanently remove your list from our system, and if you so choose, we will provide an electronic copy of the list to you before removing it.

Usernames and Passwords
Your information is stored in your personal on-line account. Only you have access to your information, via your Username and Password. The combination of Username and Password are both unique to you and you alone.

Credit Card Information
Credit card information is transferred to us using secure transmission technology including SSL and HTTPS (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure). The information is then encrypted and stored so we can process payments through our secure Bank of Scotland merchant service.

Server security & stability
The Emu servers are connected to a 100% Cisco Powered Network. Using enterprise-class Cisco networking gear, all routers, layer-2 switches, and layer-3 switches are tested in labs prior to deployment to ensure stability and interoperability. Using multiple Tier 1 Service Providers, our 99.9% uptime guarantee, ensures the highest degree of security against network downtime and the fastest possible data transfers.

Emu uses the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP4) for best case routing. The BGP4 protocol is a standard that allows for the routing of packets of information sent out from our network. Each packet of information is evaluated and sent over the best route possible. Because of our redundant network architecture, packets may be sent via alternative routes even if they are being delivered to the same end user. Should one of our providers fail, packets leaving our network are automatically redirected through another route via a different provider.

All application servers are located in an unmarked, dedicated data center facility on a fully switched network. Traffic destined for a server is sent only through switching equipment necessary to deliver the information to that server. This minimizes the risk of someone sniffing or capturing traffic being sent across the network. Furthermore, we vigorously prosecutes persons who generate malicious attacks on our internal network. The data center has been built from the ground up on a carrier-neutral site and is built completely on computer-grade raised flooring; it is built for dedicated server hosting with redundant fibre entry points. The data center's HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) system is N+1 redundant. With full particle filtering and humidity control, the environment is maintained at a cool 68 degrees. The servers are not reliant upon the local power grid to guarantee maximum uptime. Our on-site, auto-switched power generator and centralized UPS systems provide power conditioning and ensure uninterrupted data center operation. Additionally, the generator is regularly tested to ensure that it will continue to function in the event of an emergency. The data center is physically isolated from everyone but level three technicians. Public access is strictly forbidden. Access to the floor of the data center resides on is restricted and completely locked down.

Backup & Recovery
Your data is kept safe with daily backups to both disk and high-speed tape. Backups are stored offsite in a fireproof data safe.
